Question Next question: undead

What sort of undead are known to inhabit the Dread Moor? Particularly the southern area, if that makes a difference. Are Wyrld undead the standard skeletons, zombies, vampires, etc., or are there undead unique to this setting?

I'm looking to adventure in the Dread Moor. The character will have been trained by a militant order that's experienced in fighting the undead of that place, so he'll have some idea of what's he'll be facing and will be prepared appropriately. For example, if the area is commonly infested with a variety of skeletons, bringing a bow is probably not going to lead to long-term longevity. I'd suspect zombie-types would also be mostly unfazed by such a weapon, due to lack of vital organs.

Is there any ranged weapon that would be effective against undead? (Catapults and ballistae don't count.)

Cheers,

Marik

Hmm try a bazooka :-)

Actually there is not much that can slow these bad boys down. The undead run from mindless zombies to things that act and look like the critters in the I am Legend movie.

Yes there are some undead that resemble vampires but not quite.

Actually there are some undead we have in the mix that no one has lived.... whoops did I say that outloud. I meant that no one has met yet.

What sort of weapons would be recommended by someone with experience, and would a bow be considered effective?

A bow or even a spear would not do well against undead. you need something that would break bones not stabb into flesh. Undead are animated by a force. Still that force needs bones to move so the whole creature moves. Take away the bones and well that leaves just the force. Which, by nature cannot harm us or it would without useing an animated corpse.

I hope this helps.
