Trade between the nations has always been central to the manner in which they interact with each other. This trade can take an unimaginable number of faces, including direct purchases, bartering, or other more complex systems like indentured service. Slavery, though relatively rare, is not unheard of in Darisia and far more common outside its confines. Nations engage in trade for natural resources, luxuries, and the other economic needs, but also for more political reasons. Even more frequently nations will refuse contact with each other over differences in ethic or governance. Thule has punished those who trade with Turgammon with death for the entire span of their joint history, claiming that the more northern empire is anathema to all that is good in the Wyrld. The needs and desires of a nation can drive relations with others as strongly as underlying ideologies and religious beliefs. Wyrldscape is a free form play-by-post role playing game created for the enjoyment of interaction and creative writing. This compendium exists to aid those who would play in its infinite vaults.
