Druun Mountains

Forming the eastern barrier of much of Darisia, the Druun mountains are a huge and varied range. In the north the range has frequent active volcanoes, while in the south the peaks tend to be smaller and more rounded.

There are many legends about the Druun mountains, many of them involving Niellenor and the Years of Terror. One legend says that many of the volcanoes in that range were born during those years, and others tell of the ancient treasure trove of Niellenorian kings, hidden on the far side of the empire from the nations capital.

Whatever the truth of these, and many other, rumors and myths, the Druun mountains are certainly dangerous. In addition to the perils which seem native to all mountainous regions the Druun mountains are home to goblinkind in large numbers. Other stranger creature are also seen from time to time, but it is the goblins that form the most common danger. It is these tribes that force the Ellorians to use so many guards for the many mines in the eastern regions of their country. Goblins are all too happy to let another nation work the mines and then steal the ore.
