The wizard spends his time studying the energies of the wyrld and learning how to unleash them. The stereotypical image of a mage unleashing bolts of energy and flying through the air are due to the outgoing and obvious nature of the wizard's magic. As a wizard continues to deepen his connection to these energies they begin to scour away at his mind. Conversely wizards become more emotional as they become more thoughtful and advanced. Wizards are also responsible for the myth that mages cannot use armor or weapons. Metallic items on the person of a wizard can cause a dangerous resonance with his magic. By the time they are ready to consider joining a guild even a few coins can be a disturbance. For the greatest spells the entire area surrounding them must be free of metal of any sort.
