Halflings are a strange and little understood race. Small and feral, it is unknown if these creatures are related to humans, whom they resemble greatly except for their size, or gnomes, with whom they share stature. Almost all halflings live near the Great Escarpment in the plains north and east of Menion. Some even eek a living in the Druun mountains. Halflings are one of the reason that north south trade is dangerous in Darisia, and even prompted Shurrah to join forces with Elloria and build the High Road. Large tribes of Halflings have been known to roam about, taking what they could where they could before retreating to their cave homes in the Great Escarpment. The Halflings have been so successful in this area that they have displaced goblinkind from central Darisia. Physical Features Halflings are small creatures of much variety in appearance and size. Most are under three and a half feet, and cloth themselves in the skins of animals. They tend to be very strong for their size, making deadly use of spears and other simple weapons. Halflings see exceptionally well at night, and have hearing like that of a cat. Though it is obvious that halflings are quite intelligent few get close enough to find out what their culture is like Wyrldscape is a free form play-by-post role playing game created for the enjoyment of interaction and creative writing.
